Serves as a Library Technician in support of operating and maintaining technical library in DQM, MSC-K, and works for a team member of PID as well. 1. Performs a variety of clerical work involved in recording, maintaining and circulating library material and rendering library services not requiring professional training. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: maintains library material in proper order, checks material to ensure it is in good serviceable condition; shelves material returned from circulation desk, prepares and maintains cards for new material; prepares materials for circulation by stamping, lettering and pasting book pockets and date due slips; records and compiles attendance and circulation statistics; sets up special sections as directed such as newly arrived books and subject matter material of current interest; operates a circulating desk; instructs patrons on membership rules and operating procedures; assists patrons and students in selecting and locating reference material and in using card catalogs; checks out and receives material; and answers reference questions of a non-technical nature. 2. Controls, coordinates, and maintains status accounting records of technical documentation, including Technical Manuals (TM), Technical Orders (TO), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWR), and other Technical Data Package (TDP) information required to support Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of National Maintenance Program (NMP) products and services. Processes and categorizes technical data concerning the disciplines of configuration control, engineering, procurement, supply operation, maintenance, cataloging, and logistics support. Remains current in information technology capabilities for input processes, software conversion tools, scanning, output displays, new input format, new versions of software upgrades and functionality, and software maintenance. 3. Performs a variety of research functions to support inspection, maintenance, storage, and/or preservation functions in selecting and locating references on materials. Checks materials and references located satellite library to assure completeness and accuracy. Updates, provides and monitors technical work instructions and assure them to be updated as newly published. Assists MSC-K personnel in the identification of parts, substitute parts, and finding end item application for parts. 4. Performs the automated technical library operations program IAW DA Pam 25-33, User's Guide for Army Publications and Forms: (a) DA Form 12-R, DA 12-99-R, Series Request and Distribution of Publications; (b) Dyna-mite publication requests; (c) Part number searches; (d) BII inspection checklist; and (e) PS magazine equipment maintenance data references. Provides library information exchanges using CD-ROM, reviews current publication lists to ensure every part on-hand is currently in the database. 5. Assists the Chief in PID operations: performs administrative duties such as reviews, coordinates, and monitors implementation of policies governing the program area; carries out local directives and guidance; maintains program (Process Improvement Projects) records and prepares and submits reports; develops information papers, briefings, and presentations; assists with implementation meetings including contacting of key personnel, note-taking, and preparation of minutes; arranges for facilities and needed equipment for all meetings; updates and maintains lists for all Lean training, Value Stream Analysis (VSA), and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE).
