Accounting Assistant 

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join the New York Times’ Seoul bureau on a full-time basis, to handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to accounting and financial processes. In this role you will support and assist foreign employees in financial related matters, and be their go-to person if they have any questions.

This role will report to the Accounting Manager based outside of South Korea, and will be a full-time fixed term contract until June 2025.

Main responsibilities

Provide administrative support to monthly expenses accounting 

Submit supplier creation and supplier invoices for payments.

Assist foreign employees in setting up an IRP account 

Support the administrative process to the Korean e-invoices for VAT recovery process

Assist in onboarding foreign employees - help communicate with banks, T&E reimbursement process

Ad-hoc reporting as needed 

Our ideal candidate:

2 years’ experience working for a global organisation

Undergraduate Accounting degree preferred 

Strong MS Excel skills

Fluency in English and Korean 

Working knowledge of an accounting system would be a plus

Experience in companies whose accounting/financial functions are supported by a centralized Shared Service Centre will be a plus

Ability to work autonomously with little supervision

-월간 경비 회계에 대한 행정 지원 제공
-공급업체 생성 및 공급업체 송장 지급을 위한 신청서 제출
-외국 직원들이 IRP 계정을 설정하는 데 도움
-인보이스에 대한 부가가치세 환수 과정을 위한 행정 프로세스 지원
-외국 직원의 입사 지원

- 은행과의 소통, T&E 환급 프로세스 지원
-필요에 따라 각종 보고서 작성

우대사항

-글로벌 기업에서 2년의 근무 경험
-학사 학위를 취득한 또는 회계 전공자 우대
-MS Excel
-영어 및 한국어 능통
-회계 시스템에 대한 작업 지식은 플러스
-감독 없이 자율적으로 일할 수 있는 능력
