1. Support/Lead internal public policy teams
* Drive key public policy initiatives within BD working through public policy teams and collaborative frameworks of internal stakeholders.
* Leverage subject matter and technical expertise from across the Company
* Collaborate with peers in similar roles across BD to exchange best practice
2. Build stakeholder relationships
* Develop strong relationships with stakeholders in the healthcare, patient, and NGO communities by leveraging the resources of the Company to advance common healthcare goals.
* Create a sustainable stakeholder plan and implementation process, accountable to the Country General Manager
3. Represent the Company
* Provide strategic support for accomplishing jointly agreed policy objectives to Company leaders participating in trade and industry associations and represent the Company in these organizations as appropriate.
* Establish with the Manager/Director of Public Policy and HEOR, performance metrics for the role with an annual review to assess progress (eg, leadership in cross functional team, coalition development, development of policy forums, support a legislative initiative, initiate and implement an advocacy effort with patient groups and professional organizations)
4. Market development and planning
* Align external affairs and public policy programs to market development needs for new products including agreed performance metrics with business unit leaders to support their business outcomes.
* Support strategic public policy planning.
5. Health Economic and Outcomes Research
* Bring professional expertise in the field of Health Economics (HE), Outcomes Research (OR) and Health Technology Assessments (HTAs) and provide support internal customers across the businesses, as appropriate
* Perform HE analyses and evaluation to deliver cost-effective solutions to country health authorities in a variety of local settings, using BD products. This will require a good working knowledge of the range of healthcare environments, mastering of HE modeling methods and associated tools, and ability to interact effectively with both internal and external teams.
* Provide expert advice on which HE studies would best be performed externally, and lead or assist in selection of external contractors and collaborators
* Support submissions to Health Technology Assessment agencies evaluating BD products if/where appropriate.
6. Success in a complex organization
* Demonstrated and successful experience in driving public policy objectives across business units or equivalent experience in successfully working within a complex organization
* Demonstrated, tangible and successful outcomes in driving policy or market development objectives working with multiple stakeholders.
7. Relationship development
* A track record of success in building relationships with a variety of stakeholder communities and a demonstration of outcomes based on those relationships.

9. Excellent communication skills
* Proven experience in delivering high-quality, data-driven, and effective written and oral communications to internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and other data to broad internal and external audiences is critical.
* Exceptional communication (oral and written) and presentation skills are helpful
