– Plan unit/monthly/yearly lessons and curriculum that aligns with CCSS standards
– Use a variety of delivery methods that will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and the demands of the CCSS standards
– Deliver high quality Literature/Writing lessons to MS/HS students in school
– Instruct Middle and High School Integrated and Literature/Writing classes with enthusiasm, creativity, and sensitivity to student learning styles.
– Utilize technology for instructing students, maintaining records, communicating information to parents, and promoting student and drama program achievements.
– Commitment to professional growth through participation in professional learning communities and development opportunities
– Experience using Understanding by Design (UBD) to develop learning units
– Follow the textbook and syllabus provided by the school for preparing lesson plans
– Planning a developmentally appropriate educational program which fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and aesthetic growth of each student
– Participate in ongoing professional development and the process of professional review
– Work with your co-teacher to add supplementary lessons and activities to your lesson plan
– Supervise student teachers and actively participate in their learning (study hall/recess)
– Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and communication with parents
– Conduct parent/teacher conferences once a semester (PTC) during working hours
– Assist, as required, in the development of social and emotional curricular materials
– Act as a resource/contact/
support for new staff members (i.e. curriculum, schedules, procedures)
– Participate in and, assist with, school events as required
Salary & Benefits Information
