RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employs in-depth conceptual and practical expertise regarding relevant theory, practice, and procedures relevant to
consulting disciplines. Develops basic knowledge of related additional job disciplines. Uses this knowledge to deliver
customer programs and broaden capabilities of the organization.
- Relevant consulting disciplines according to this job description include, but are not limited to
o Automotive Spice
o CMMI
o Functional Safety
o Agile/Safe frameworks
o Cybersecurity
o Related topics in the field of mobility and critical systems development
- Solves complex problems incorporating expertise and the input from multiple stakeholders and experts in both UL
and the client’s organization.
- Works independently as an expert, requiring only minor/minimal guidance, to deliver results and solutions on both
internal and external programs.
- Plays a program leadership role; for example by leading individual projects or leading project steps within a broader
project, including accountability for on-going activities or objectives
Acts as a resource and source of guidance, counsel and expertise for colleagues with less experience
Presents findings and summaries in the field of relevant consulting disciplines to both internal/UL teams and external
client teams. Capable to lead the development and preparation of materials and presentation of materials to target
audiences.
- Manages the communication of difficult or sensitive information to clients, peers, managers and other stakeholders.
Works collaboratively to build consensus in complex and challenging situations.
Serves as a mentor to more junior colleagues.
Contribute to business development efforts by assisting in the definition of Statements of Work (SOWs) and providing
budgetary estimates for client proposal development
- Contribute to client programs by interacting regularly with clients in technical program meetings and project reviews.
Address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to Consulting
and related technical fields. Projects may include regular travel to client sites and to other UL locations.
- Contribute to verification reviews or other technical review activities as directed. May represent the company at
industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.
- Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. Comfortable
working in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
Integrate continuous improvement and safety culture in all aspects of the job.
Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Performs other duties as directed.
University Degree in consulting-relevant field such as Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Automotive
Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant fields as deemed appropriate to the consulting business.
2 or more years of experience required.
Additional formal certifications in at least one relevant consulting disciplines; for example Certified Provisional Aspice Assessor, UL-Certified Functional Safety Professional, or similar certification.
Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate disciplin
