Overview
SOSi is looking for an experienced SATCOM Field Service Engineer to join the team at Osan Air Base, Korea. The customer, based in Honolulu, Hawaii, develops, manages, and supports IT solutions for USINDOPACOM and its 5,000+ customers across the Pacific region. Join a team that tackles complex technical challenges to support critical C2 strategies for USINDOPACOM.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the administrator for the Pacific Air Forces' Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) SATCOM system
- Serve as the customer's SATCOM Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Manage usage and performance of SATCOM systems
- Maintain integrity and security of SATCOM devices and systems
- Update SATCOM terminals and operating systems to DoD guidelines
- Monitor SATCOM terminal-network health and troubleshoot issues
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance Service and Checks on SATCOM systems
- Assist with SATCOM installations and upgrades
- Provide input on SATCOM topics and requirements
- Evaluate hardware and software, and develop testing strategies
- Stay informed on relevant hardware and software applications
- Offer guidance and training to administrators and end-users
- Coordinate with internal and external teams
- Provide updates and briefings to customer's management
- Assist with USINDOPACOM network operations
- Engage in special projects and tasks as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Active SECRET clearance and US Passport
- DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant
- Four (4) years of related experience
- Experience with DoD SATCOM systems
- Intermediate understanding of network technologies
- Knowledge of DISA STIG Network Security guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Knowledge in Circuit & Network Design
- Prior DISA Circuit Management experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
