Data Center Technician

As a Microsoft Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures to quickly identify and resolve issues with minimal customer and business disruption.
- Set up and verify hardware deployments, including grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling, according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
- Communicate and report incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
- Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
- Complete required training and observe more experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience and relevant on-the-job training.
- Contribute to a positive and effective team environment by sharing information and staying apprised of the status of others' work.
- Take pride and ownership of the data center facilities and embody Microsoft's culture and values.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
