Role Overview
As a Staff Technical Program Manager, you will assist engineers and technical leads building the most valuable advertising solutions in the world and deliver meaningful financial results to the company's bottom line.
You will leverage your technical, management, and communication skills to shepherd complex, challenging projects that include engineering, product management, financial, and regulatory teams. You will help technically, linguistically, and geographically diverse teams "speak and think as one" as you organize their efforts and represent their progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders across the company. You will be in Seoul, but you will support and work with engineers and leaders in Seoul, Seattle, MountainView, Shanghai, and possibly more locales in the future.
Where the ability to measure results or dig for answers is missing, you will deploy your understanding of data intelligence, underlying technical processes and essential business goals to build it yourself or join with others to deliver the missing pieces.
You will participate in defining best-of-breed processes to support a culture of high performance, openness and honesty, both educating and learning from your co-workers. Your experience will help you identify opportunities for refinement, validating them with data-driven analysis and devising improvements which you implement immediately or proposed to senior management when scope and commitment level require it.
As you gain understanding of CMG's products from working with people in all locations, you will become a subject matter expert on the systems and services CMG provides, able to represent those systems to other organizations across Coupang.
Education
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, science or equivalent.
Basic Qualifications:
· 8+ years of industry experience.
· Top tier communication skills.
· Organized, able to multitask effectively.
· Can lead and influence without formal authority.
· Problem solver. Works past challenges to break tradeoffs and deliver measurable value.
· Absorbs and manages technical detail in depth while still seeing the big picture.
· Skilled at developing and mentoring others.
Considered a plus:
· Experience with ecommerce or advertising systems.
· Fluency in Chinese
Languages:
· Fluency in Spoken English and Korean is required.
