Hauptaufgaben

Serves as a Cable Splicer with responsibility for monitoring the operation of cable systems and for the repair of these systems involving fiber optic and copper multi-strand cables, manholes and ducts. Monitors the operation of the fiber optic communication system to assure its operational integrity by using the Single Mode Optical Loss Test set to determine where lightguide cable splice loss has occurred. Provides this information to the operations officer to be used in scheduling repair of the system. Repairs fiber optic cables using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Single Mode Optical Loss Test set (SMOLT), fiber optic cable splicer 944B and Fusion Splicer FW310. Strips cable down to the 12 strand fiber optic hairs, feeds cable hairs through splice kit, polishes each end and when the test equipment indicates the cable is ready for splicing, activates the splicing kit which glues each strand together. Programs test equipment to accomplish repair operations. Coordinates with the US. Telecommunication and Korean Telecommunication Companies when repair involves shared cable system to assure that they are aware of the repair operations. May assist in the installation of fiber optic cable. Performs other duties as assigned.

주업무: 통신 케이블 절연공으로서 케이블 시스템의 작동을 확인하고 맨홀,덕트, 광케이블, 다중 동케이블과 관련된 시스템을 정비하는 책임을 가진다. Lightguide 케이블 접속 손실이 일어난 곳을 확인하기 위한 Single Mode Optical Loss 테스트를 통해 작동 무결성을 확인하는 섬유광학의 통신 시스템의 가동을 감시합니다. 시스템의 수리를 예정할 때에 담당자에게 이 정보를 제공합니다. Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Single Mode Optical Loss Test set (SMOLT), fiber optic cable splicer 944B and Fusion Splicer FW310을 써서 광케이블을 수리합니다. 수리 작업을 달성하기 위해 장비시험을 계획합니다 . 수리시 한국과 미국 전기 통신 케이블 시스템과 연관이 있는 경우 수리 작업을 인지하고 있다는 것을 확인하는 연락을 취합니다. 광케이블 설치를 보조합니다. 구리선 통신 케이블 설치하고 수리합니다. 기타 부여된 업무를 수행합니다.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Workers spend most of their time on outside work, frequently working during storms and inclement weather. They are exposed to hazards of burns from hot lead, electric shock when wires are crossed with electric power lines; falls from climbing poles and working from suspended platforms; explosion from gas in manholes; tools dropped by others working on overhead cables; use of laser beam on fiber optic cables poses a severe eye hazard if exposed to the beam.

작업조건: 작업 수행자는 대부분의 작업시간을 옥외에서 지내며, 때때로 폭풍우 및 거칠고 나쁜 날씨에 작업하게 됩니다. 뜨거운 납으로부터 화상의 위험이 있고, 동력선과 교차된 선로 공사 시에는 감전의 위험이 있으며, 전주나 사닥다리에서 떨어질 수 있으며, 맨홀 내부에서 가스 폭발 또는 높은 위치에서 공구가 떨어져서 부상당할 위험이 있으며, 광 파이버 케이블 작업으로 만일 광선에 노출되면 시력에 치명적인 손상을 입을 수가 있습니다.
