The core responsibility for Product Development Marketing Specialist is to
Executing innovation process through building innovation product briefs that reflect Asian consumers needs and working closely with labs in Asia and France to ensure formulation is on the right track Providing prospective analysis to support building successful product, brand and business strategies in the Asian marketWith guidance from PDM manager, the scope of overall responsibility will be, but not limited to the followings:
1. Trends & Prospective Analysis
Track, analyse and report new market trends, changing consumer needs and key competitor activities in Japan. Analyze success factors behind new launches and performances of competitors in Asia with a view on our brand (SWOT). Deep dive into key product categories from our 3 axes (skincare, makeup, fragrance), including market performance, emerging trends, and consumer insights to strategize further stretch to win. Support central marketing and R&D teams in texture/positioning/communication building towards key launches by implementing Japanese market insights.2. Innovation
Using market knowledge, consumer insights, and clear understanding of further opportunities in Asia, and build innovation product briefs with concrete reason behind. Work closely with lab teams to co-develop product prototypes, and continuously provide guidance to reach the briefs. Support PDM manager to liaise and coordinate with other markets (France, China & Korea) to promote ONE voice during the innovation process.3. Cosmetic Evaluation
INNOVATION
With PDM manager, evaluate innovation skeletons to give best positioning for our innovation lab teams, in collaboration with counterparts in France, China and Korea.
COMPETITORS
Regularly evaluate competitor products to understand changing texture trends and analyze specific sensorial cues of consumers’ perception.
Profile
Profile:
University graduate with a minimum of Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product development or marketing field, preferably in cosmetic industryKey competencies:
Good sense of trends and deep interest in beauty Passionate about creation and innovation Strong analytical skills and insight generation Excellence in communication, presentation and interaction skills with diverse people and teams, including marketing, technical teams and packaging/purchasing/production teams Strong self-leadership, teamwork, organizational skills, and ability to work cross-functionally Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to drive programs with attention to details and excellent follow throughKnowledge of Japanese local market including consumers and trends
Technical skills:
Excel, Powerpoint Fluent in Japanese and at least business level English
