Gilead’s therapeutic areas of focus include liver diseases, infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer.
We are recruiting for a new Therapeutic Specialist or Senior Therapeutic Specialist within the Covid-19(Veklury) sales team, covering whole country area for Gilead.
Reporting to the Field Sales Manager. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
Essential Job Functions
Represents Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area.
Utilizes an in–depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with medical societies and cross-functional teams to support the achievement of defined Programs/objectives for the product(s) and/or therapeutic segments developed by Gilead.
Candidates require comprehensive KOL engagement and new product launch skills
Specific Responsibilities
Developing an ongoing business plan for own territory and communicating required actions to achieve goals.
Developing and execution of a prioritised individual and account activity plan.
Achieving ongoing sales targets in assigned territory.
Represents Gilead’s products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area.
Utilizes an in–depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals.
May assist others with their individual plans and is productive at developing in-depth market interpretation of sales analysis data.
Initiates systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
Manages territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures.
May work in collaboration with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events.
Works cooperatively with Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects related to specific accounts or physicians.
Works as an individual contributor.
Organizes sales initiatives within the market as directed and follows up on these to ensure their successful completion.
Sets a positive example for others to follow.
May take the lead on projects within team e.g. liaison role with marketing, meetings coordinator etc.
May participate in the development and mentoring of less experienced team members.
Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses etc.
Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role.
Compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal law is required.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence.
Serves as technical expert of assigned product, therapeutic classes, and patient needs in order to educate/influence key physicians.
This position requires knowledge of industry trends and competitor’s resources and practices.
Must be able to proactively identify issues, opportunities, and resolutions and is able to present and effectively communicate issues and recommendations to marketing and sales management.
A BA or BS degree
Minimum of 7 years of relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Sales experiences in general hospital / KOL management
Experiences in pulmonology/infectious disease area is preferred
Marketing experience is preferred
