Responsibilities

1. POSITION OBJECTIVE

 To be the local reporting manager of all Global Transaction & Payment Services department(“GTPS”) staff in Republic of Korea (Front Officers and Middle Officers, Trade Services and Cash Clearing etc.)  To define and execute the business strategy for Trade Services (“TRA”)  To develop Trade Finance Product Sales Activities on the product of export, import & guarantee business.  To promote cross-selling activities with Société Générale network and with other Global Transaction Payment Service(“GTPS”) businesses & desks in Asia  To achieve budget set up with regional and global office in GTPS, while properly managing the associated risks as well as Risk Weighted Asset(“RWA”)/asset quality & profitability.   To maintain good cooperation & communication with SG Colleagues including TRA Customer Service Team, Bangalore Backoffice, TRA Paris colleagues, TRA management, Seoul management, other related departments as well as other SG entities  To abide by TRA business line's corporate mission and business strategy and compliance guidance of SG Group  To be the GTPS ambassador with local clients and local competition  As the case may occur in coming years, develop Payment & Cash management (“PCM”) business in Korea including system setup and client’s development.

2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSABILITIES

 Management responsibilities:

Defines and implements a suitable strategy for the Desk in line with the strategy of GTPS and of the country Manages the GTPS staff to deliver the best-in-class solutions for SG’s customers and achieve or exceed the budget. Acts as Trade expert to support the Sales and the Customer Support team in their knowledge and promotion of the products and services.  Manages all HR processes (recruitment, appraisals…) Manages the audits internal and external in the right spirit and very objectively Works with the team to resolve issues and to comply with guidelines and business requirements. Undertakes adhoc projects as requested by the regional management.

 Reporting responsibilities

Establishes annual budgets and marketing plans with Regional Senior Management and Global Business Lines  Timely escalates and seeks advice for appropriate actions and controls Presents to Senior management clear visibility on the business growth, challenges and the solutions on the way forward.

 Monitors performance indicators for both Sales and Middle Office teams.

Motivates, boosts the business spirit and helps the Team adapt to the changing market dynamics. Monitors performance with periodical performance reports including report of Exposure, RWA, and NBI, on monthly and/or quarterly basis. Compares performance vs. budget and provides regular market update to management for helping fine-tune bank’s strategic decision. Update forecasts at client and desk level, and monitor GTPS client profitability (RGCP)

 Sales & Cross-selling

Promotes sales activity identifies business opportunities with market insight, and promotes solution driven approach to satisfy clients, develops efficient communication with clients and all other relevant parties including TRA management, TRA colleagues, Credit management, Seoul management, Client relationship management, SG Networks involved. kSales activities are to be properly priced based on right utilization of RWA and profitability guided by TRA guidelines while bearing in mind of all risks associated. Cross-sells actively within Global Transaction Banking: GTPS (Cash management, Trade Finance and Supply Chain Finance,) as well as with Investment Banking (GBIS) business lines, and the case may be French Retail Division (SGRF) and International Network (IBFS) divisions. Increases visibility of the Business Line within the organization and on the local market by initiating internal and external communication and events. Co-ordinates with stakeholders to develop business with innovative solutions.

 Compliance & risk monitoring

Ensures that all the risks are properly monitored and handled.  Ensures adherence to established Know Your Customer, Compliance, Environmental & Social (“E&S”) and Anti Money Laundering(“AML”) policies, procedures & controls.  Liaises with Compliance to increase awareness of fraud and AML across the department. Implements all required measures and procedures to mitigate operational and credit risks. Ensures procedures and policies are adequate drafted, updated and followed for both cash management and Trade services and ensuring they are in line with regulatory requirements and with regional or global guidelines or standards. 

 Products

Collects market information on the trends and the competition in order to ensure SG maintains a competitive position. Foresees the improvements required in the Business Unit’s products & services offering (to work in close coordination with various stakeholders)

Profile required

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics/ Finance or Business Administration Team management experience Profound knowledge of Trade Finance products (L/Cs, SBLCs, guarantees) and structured Trade Finance, understanding of other GTPS line products.  Good understanding of the risk drivers of the Trade business and comply with all relevant risk and regulatory obligations. Experience in dealing with large multinational corporate clients, corporate relationship managers and structured finance teams. Client oriented approach, excellent level of business penetration and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural, and regulatory issues. Familiarity with credit analysis and risk-based profitability approach (RAROC, RWA…) Good IT skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Fluent in Korean and English (written and oral) The person shall be autonomous, proactive, well organized and accurate. Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, including written, verbal, and the ability to deliver compelling internal and client presentations. Ability to coordinate different stakeholders and to definite synthetized action plans. Ability to learn and work in a deadline-driven and culturally diverse environment.  Ability to spot, understand and solve issues, develop and recommend alternatives and/or solutions. Ability to escalate in an adequate manner. Good interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain good working. Relationship both internally and externally
