Job Description

Responsibilities/Key Focus:

  • Owns the Albemarle customer interface with assigned customer portfolio as well as new customers within the value chain.
  • Achieve/exceed sales objectives through both revenue & profit through value selling.
  • Develop and maintain account plans for key strategic accounts, through deep understanding of customer value chain and their long-term development plan and competence.
  • Identify opportunities for new market development for chemical industries with Albemarle Specialties products in Korea and Korea transplant region as well.
  • Understands the customer requirements and provides timely feedback to the commercial leadership team about customer potential through analysis of positioning, strengths, weaknesses and competition.
  • Actively partners with Product Management to develop and execute tailored strategy for Korea for both polymer industry as well as for semi-conductor industry.
  • Successfully negotiate, implement, and secure current and new business opportunities.
  • Forecast accurate sales volume and revenues and meets/exceeds the annual operating plan targets.
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships at various senior management levels and throughout new and existing customer organizations (high, wide and deep).
  • Develop, teach, and apply Challenger Selling tools and techniques in customer interactions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree at a minimum with basic knowledge of chemical industry/application
  • Having a Master's degree or MBA would be an added advantage.
  • 5 years of sales/marketing or technical sales experience in B2B Sales in Business Development or Key Account Management role(s), preferably in the chemical industry.
  • English language proficiency (both written and verbal) is required.
  • Able to work in a multicultural and international environment and a team player.
  • Understanding of Korean chemical industry and chemical applications preferably in the plastics industry and Bromine / Lithium industry knowledge is also preferred.
  • Able to own and analyze assigned business segments independently
  • Excellent sales skills, value selling skills and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate value chain, risks, growth potential of accounts, etc.
  • Good presentation and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the designated market (50% of your time).
  • Computer knowledge – MS Office and other relevant platforms
  • Strong negotiation skills and resiliency to tough situations.
