A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Field Service Software Engineer at MKS Atotech Korea, you will partner with internal teams, customers, and engineering groups to develop, maintain, and support software systems integrated with industrial equipment. In this role, you will report to the Software Engineer Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
• Developing and maintaining PLC and JavaScript-based software for industrial equipment.
• Commissioning and configuring software systems during equipment installation to ensure seamless operation.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and system issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Training customers and internal teams on the proper operation and maintenance of software and equipment systems.
• Ensuring software and equipment systems comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Managing communication protocols (SECS/GEM, OPC) and supporting fieldbus systems (Modbus, EtherCAT, Profibus).
• Travel
Requirements:
Up to 30% of travel is required for on-site support and commissioning. Skills You Bring:
• Level of
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
• Years of
Experience:
2+ years of experience in software development, system integration, or a related field.
• Required
Skills:
• Strong programming skills in PLC and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in industrial communication protocols such as SECS/GEM and OPC.
• Experience with fieldbus systems like Modbus, EtherCAT, or Profibus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. Preferred
Skills:
• Experience in commissioning and maintaining industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of hardware and software integration for manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with safety standards in industrial environments. Supervisory Scope:
• Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Software Engineer Manager.
