Summary About the Position:

This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction This position is located in Seoul, South Korea.

This is a position with an initial overseas tour of 3 years with possible extensions for a total of 5 years.

Responsibilities Serves as the Team Leader and senior desktop technician of the Customer Support Division team, consisting of civilian and military personnel.

Provides technical expertise for maintaining the end user desktop environment to include hardware, software and applications as well as all related technical issues for the United States Army Network Enterprise Center Seoul Airbase (USANEC­Seoul AB).

Leads a team engaged in end user customer support which focuses on troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems that have been escalated.

Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.

Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.


Leads the team in:

identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.

Researches, learns and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyzes and improves team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.

Provides technical expertise for end user desktop environment customer support. Uses approved tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve end user hardware and software.

Monitors status of Help Desk tickets and adds pertinent information into the Help Desk ticket system, to include all the steps leading to resolution.

Assists with computer configuration, troubleshooting software, troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues. Diagnoses and analyzes hardware and software problems for resolution and applies appropriate security measures consistent with approved security standards.

Access for civilian employees to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.

If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI and DoDM If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI and DoDM Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care.

Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
