Risk Engineering team provides the next level platform and framework related to security, compliance, etc. in preparation for negative risks so that the fintech business teams can achieve success. We are looking for a manager that can help lead this team in (1) an appropriate future direction on architecture and technology; (2) prioritization of risk detection and prevention algorithms that minimize loss.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive team to design and implement risk engineering systems for Coupang Pay
Drive team to integrate AI and ML technologies into various systems such as Fraud Detection System (FDS) and Anti-money Laundering (AML) System to ensure the secure protection of customer data. Develop technologies and features for the sustainable delivery of financial services.
Drive team to develop systems that ensure continuous financial services while safely protecting customer data.
Own communication with the stakeholders of risk engineering systems to design and implement systems that comply with laws and regulations
Drive team to build the risk engineering systems in the Coupang Pay environment and provide services to relevant development teams
Drive collaboration with other tech leaders of Coupang to identify and scale the services that can mitigate negative risks
Identify and disseminate best practices to the team
Drive team efficiency and scale team to match growth of the business
Have vision for the future direction of the risk engineering team for direction on architecture and technology
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in software development at technology companies
3+ years of experience in software development management and leadership at technology companies
Solid track record of delivering large and complex systems with significant business impact
Experience of leading teams designing and developing large-scale distributed systems and architectures
Broad and deep understanding of key technologies in storage, data processing, and serving
Excellent communications and collaborations across teams and across functionalities
Experience driving teams to improve, such as in code quality
Experience with logistics-related service development
Experience in automating build/test/deploy processes
Agile experience
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or other related tech fields
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in software development in a fintech organization
Experience in security or compliance-related system development
Strong background in cloud services (docker, K8S and AWS/ Google/ Azure)
Experience in company-wide application of API Gateway and Service Mesh
Experience and knowledge in Java, distributed systems, micro services, messaging services
The ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-changing environment
Good understanding of the agile software development methods

A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a "Request for Return of Hiring Documents" [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company by email () In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant's designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.
In preparation for a job applicant's request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
