Electrical Commissioning Lead Job Description

Lead electrical commissioning activities for large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards, and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and project teams.

About the Role

As an Electrical Commissioning Lead, you will be responsible for supporting project Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and startup operations from the home office and transferring to a shipyard in South Korea. You will develop detailed Pre-Commissioning and commissioning schedules, integrate Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities into project schedules, and prepare electrical testing procedures/plans during the engineering phase of a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with client, supplier, regulatory bodies, project management, engineering, and field personnel.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of assigned engineers, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates.
  • Perform employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for staff within area of responsibility.
  • Provide technical guidance or overall project startup supervision and assigns work to project startup Electrical engineers, technicians, crafts, and others who are performing specific assignments.
  • Coordinate between project engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.
  • Input to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure commissioning and startup requirements are incorporated into project activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering preferred or Equivalent experience.
  • MUST have previous experience in field Electrical Commissioning on a large-scale project.
  • MUST have 5-10 years of experience as a Electrical Commissioning Lead and Preferred candidate will have overall at least 10-15 years' experience.
  • Preferably worked on LNG, FLNG, FPSO projects is preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Physical Demands: Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
  • Work Environment: Typical construction site environment, requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions, requires working in very hot or very cold temperatures and exposure to inclement weather.
