Climate Change Expert for Sustainable Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Change Expert to join our team in supporting the development of sustainable climate action initiatives. About the RoleThe Climate Change Expert will be responsible for implementing the organization's Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), including the Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) standards. The successful candidate will work closely with investment teams and other specialists to integrate environmental and social considerations into funded activities.
Key Responsibilities- Adapt ESMS practices to ensure compliance with sustainability policies and standards;
- Apply ESP, ESS standards, and inclusion policies to due diligence and review of funding proposals;
- Foster innovation by advising on practical approaches to embed social sustainability and gender sensitivity in funded activities;
- Provide timely technical advice to stakeholders on ESMS and sustainability policies;
- Contribute to knowledge management and capacity development efforts.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree in environmental or social sciences, engineering, or a related field, and at least seven years of relevant international experience. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively with investment teams and other specialists.
