Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Finance Specialist to join our team in the Africa Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing climate finance initiatives that promote sustainable growth and development in Africa. Your expertise will help us identify and leverage opportunities to mobilize public and private sector investment in climate mitigation and adaptation efforts.
About the Role
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Fund's impact in climate finance initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and review funding proposals, concept notes, and readiness proposals.
- Engage with accredited entities, national designated authorities, and partner organizations to ensure effective project implementation.
- Maintain relationships with policymakers, senior government officials, and industry players to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Masters degree in finance, environmental economics, or a related field.
- At least 9 years of experience in climate finance, impact investing, and/or regional or international investment facilities.
- Proven track record in project management, including design, implementation, transaction appraisal, and financial structuring.
- Strong understanding of climate change and international development, with a focus on Africa.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
