About the Green Climate Fund
">The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global leader in climate finance, dedicated to supporting developing countries in their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change.
">We are seeking a highly skilled ClimatE Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing an active pipeline of transformative proposals to mobilize public investment in climate mitigation and adaptation, with a focus on infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
">Purpose
">- To develop and implement strategies to enhance the GCF's impact in the region through the identification, development, and delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects.">
- To work closely with accredited entities, governments, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for climate action and to develop innovative solutions to address the climate challenge.">
Key Responsibilities
">- To lead the development and implementation of project origination, structuring, and due diligence processes for infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.">
- To collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk, legal, environmental, and social safeguards specialists, to ensure that projects meet GCF's stringent criteria.">
- To engage with external stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society organizations, to build support for GCF's mission and to promote the adoption of climate-friendly technologies and practices.">
- To manage relationships with accredited entities and governments to facilitate the successful delivery of projects and to leverage resources and expertise to maximize impact.">
- To contribute to the development of new business models and financing instruments to address emerging climate risks and opportunities.">
Requirements
">- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as engineering, economics, finance, or international relations.">
- At least 9 years of relevant experience in climate finance, impact investing, or international development, with a strong track record in project management, financial analysis, and stakeholder engagement.">
- Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure project development, including technical review, financial structuring, and risk management.">
- Familiarity with GCF policies, procedures, and tools, as well as a strong understanding of the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.">
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.">
- Fluency in English and Spanish, with proficiency in Portuguese and/or French an asset.">
