We are looking for a dedicated and results oriented talent to join our Health and Biosciences (H&B) team as Account Manager. This position is Korea based and will report to the Sub Region or Local Lead, and work closely with local team and receive guidance from the regional industry leaders for Health.

Your Focus
As Account Manager, you will be the probiotics and other Health products contact point for our customers in Korea and you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing our relationship strategy at key accounts
  • Translating customers’ insights and unmet needs into new business leads
  • Collaborate with internal functions (e.g. innovation, marketing, product specialist) and external distributor and tolling partner to drive conversion of business leads

You should have the ability to engage with customers in commercial and technical discussions (e.g. formulation design, production trial execution), and provide first level solution to our customers, tolling partners and distributors. The portfolio scope will include Probiotics, Extracts, Fibers and other functional ingredients for the dietary supplement application. 


How you will Contribute 

  • Achieve Sales Target and Business Objectives within Korea in line with Health & Biosciences, Health with growth aspiration for current product portfolio.  
  • Understand market trends, competitive intelligence ensuring relevance of market strategy, create new opportunities and joint development projects with key accounts.
  • Communicate closely and effectively with other functional group, marketing, supply chain, quality assurance, regulatory, regal, and finance to make alignment.
  • Provide inputs to develop a 3-5 year growth plan for the region considering market trends and growth strategies of Key accounts.
  • Proactively update competition landscape and market intelligence.
  • Effectively manage and strategically upgrade distribution channel to overcome the competition in the market.
  • Provide direction to channel partners to reach milestones and accelerate progress in customer buying cycle.
  • Collaborate with technical, application and marketing team across the country to provide first level innovative solutions to key accounts and customers, including training to distributors.
  • Develop and/or deliver customer workshops and presentations to raise customer awareness of performance needs in focus applications and educate customers on how to employ IFF’s solutions to address these needs.
  • Maintain updated 12 month rolling forecast of products on a monthly basis, and liaise with supply chain group, production, BU and other functions to ensure proper and smooth supply to customers.
  • Maintain updated CRM - account profiles, account plans, call reports, opportunity pipeline etc.
Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

  • Master’s degree qualification in Industrial Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Food Engineering or related discipline.
  • MBA or Marketing degree is a plus.
  • Proven record of business and account growth will be preferred.
  • Dietary supplement industry experience of at least 2 years, preferably in application, sales or consumer product production.
  • Experience with utilization of probiotics in modern dietary supplement manufacturing with emphasis on finish format products such as capsule, sachet. 
  • Ability to organize the promotional events and take initiative to involve key stakeholders.
  • Experience with customers engagement and key account management.
  • Existing network and expertise in Korea dietary supplement industry.
  • Good commercial and technical acumen that enables identification of technical and commercial needs, and proposal of optimized solution.
  • Proven value selling and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interact at multiple levels in customer organizations, including Owners & Senior Management and Operational level.
  • Resilient to setbacks and strong drive for impact.
