Global Health, Safety & Environment & HSE APAC Leader

This role is a key position within our organization, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategy for the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in HSE leadership and a proven track record of driving cultural change and improving safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a regional HSE strategy aligned with global objectives, ensuring effective risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure they understand their HSE responsibilities and have the necessary systems and processes in place to maintain compliance.
  • Support HSE leaders in implementing the HSE Management System (MS) across all operational sites, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Review HSE data to identify current and emerging risks, and work with leadership to implement controls and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Coach and develop HSE leaders to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
  • Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement and support operational teams in achieving safety and environmental standards.
  • Execute global and regional tactical initiatives, ensuring they are embedded within the region and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure incident investigations and associated root cause analyses are completed, and lessons learned are shared across all sites.
  • Support assurance processes and audits, ensuring compliance with regional and global requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in science, engineering, health, and safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in HSE leadership, with a proven track record of driving cultural change and improving safety performance.

Competencies:

  • Experience working with senior leadership and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proven experience in handling complex HSE risk management approaches and implementing effective controls.
  • Strong analytical and process-oriented skills, with the ability to drive cultural change and improve safety performance.
