The Green Climate Fund is a global leader in climate action, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our Office of the General Counsel. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on institutional matters, including governance framework, human resources, intellectual property, and procurement.
Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the Associate General Counsel - Institutional in coordinating the work of the institutional team, negotiating international agreements, and resolving complex issues that arise from time to time. You will also provide legal support to other teams and departments on matters related to institutional reforms and governance issues affecting the Fund.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in public international law, including international administrative law and/or international civil servant law. You will also need to have experience working and advising on employment relations, dispute resolution, litigation, organizational governance, administrative law, contract law, sanctions, data privacy, and intellectual property law.
You will be an expert in legal drafting skills, with experience in drafting rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines within the context of an internal governance framework. Additionally, you will have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, as well as the ability to manage the work of lawyers and interns.
As a Senior Counsel at the Green Climate Fund, you will be part of a diverse and talented workforce of over 300 people, working together to achieve our mission of supporting developing countries in their responses and actions to tackle climate change.
