AIG’s Long Term Product Development team is at the fore-front of AIG Korea’s Personal Insurance business, focusing on new coverages and products, pricing strategy, unique and attractive CVP(customer value proposition), and management of the existing products. Frequent interactions and collaboration with major functions such as distribution, PI strategy, marketing, customer service, claims, Portfolio Management, etc. is a must for this team.
How you will create an impact
- Responsible for developing and implementing profitability and growth strategies of products in support of financial goals.
- Monitor emerging risks and trends. Develop product pricing strategies to address risks. Introduce new and enhanced coverages as appropriate by working with various of 3rd parties like reinsurers and service providers. Build overall concept of new product/coverage.
- Responsible for implementing new products and ensuring A&H remains competitive on risks that meet pricing and underwriting standards. Recommend new markets, products, services, and tools to support the business needs.
- Drive growth and profitability while working with various stakeholders to develop and implement market specific strategies aimed at supporting the entire portfolio.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal underwriting, distribution, IT, and operations teams in order to provide excellent customer focus that understands and meets client’s needs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Product Development team, fostering skill development.
- Build a culture of collaboration and performance to achieve team and company goals.
- Ensures that appropriate guardrails are in place for the business. This includes adherence to Legal, Compliance, Risk and Audit’s governance framework.
- Drive consistent sales planning excellence across their respective A&H products, by assisting in establishing and ensuring adherence to risk appetite, underwriting standards and guidelines.
- Develop and ensure SI (sum Insured) and pricing adequacy for the products. Make adjustments when necessary to ensure profitability through regular revision process. Responsible for monitoring voice of end-users(insureds) and sales agents.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Sufficient work experience with accidental and health product development or pricing of Life or Non-Life insurance.
- Strong ability in delivering new product ideas within accidental and health product lines
- Deep knowledge of actuarial science, qualified actuary is a plus
- Ability to work with various distribution channels
- Early adaptor & visionary with an innovative & disruptive mindset, having demonstrated ability to adapt product, marketing, and acquisition tactics in response to market & industry Insight & developments
- Strong business acumen with a proven track record of making sound judgments backed by strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and gain commitment and trust from direct reports and colleagues.
