HauptaufgabenPerforms therapeutic measures prescribed and delegated by the medical officer (for example, medications may be administered orally, subcutaneously, intradermally, intramuscularly, intravenously, rectally and topically); application of heat, cold, and pressure or of surgical dressings; irrigations of body cavities. Contributes to the medical evaluation of patients by continuously evaluating symptoms, reactions to medications and treatments and by recording and reporting on such reactions. Also contributes to the medical evaluation of patients by determining and recording temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and by recording the patient's response to therapy and the clinical environment. Performs teaching to patients and/or family regarding self-care procedures and documents teaching. Instructs parents/guardians regarding normal verses adverse reactions to immunizations and treatment for normal reactions of discomfort. Reviews laboratory results and brings abnormal results to attention of physician. Per physician's instruction, telephones patient regarding follow-up required and documents in records. Performs patient education for special needs such as medication administration, inhaler and spacer use, self dressing changes, ostomy care, fingerstick and glucose meter use, drawing up and injection of insulin and glucagon, and asthma home monitoring with peak flow meters and nebulizer use. Educates patients and family members on childcare and school requirements for children on medications. Completes necessary paperwork for school (sick slips, asthma care plan, etc.), for provider signature. Also teaches patients early warning signs for early detection of diseases. Performs duties as a nurse in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), U.S. Army Medical Command Korea to provide appropriate remedial action in a timely fashion to the needs of the patients. Duties include; Identifying and documenting all major complaints and symptoms; taking all vital signs and coordinating and facilitating care coordination as well as providing individualized nursing care; assisting physicians with various examinations and diagnostic procedures and reviewing laboratory results; screening and reviewing immunization records; documenting all procedures and completing records using automated systems; assisting with logging patients into the system, and other clerical duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
QualifikationsanforderungenBASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have completed a three year/four year course of study in a ROKG authorized or recognized college or university in a field related to the job for which being considered. Applicants must possess a current nurse license issued by ROKG.
