About the Green Climate Fund
">- We are a multilateral climate fund, investing in impactful projects and programs in developing countries.

Position Objective
">- This role is responsible for developing relationships with country and sub-regional stakeholders.
- The Sub-Regional Head will lead a team of professionals across the investment cycle, from ideation to execution.
- This position requires fluency in English and experience in project origination, transaction appraisal, financial structuring, deal management, execution, and portfolio management.
- A proven track record in integrated climate or development finance is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, leadership experience, and cultural diversity awareness are required.
Key Responsibilities
">- Define and drive GCF's investment strategy for the sub-region.
- Develop and manage the investment pipeline, overseeing internal and external clearances.
- Drive country-led programming efforts, leveraging Readiness and Preparatory Support.
- Lead complex, high-impact projects to advance GCF's mandate.
- Ensure consistent application of institutional policies.
- Deliver on key objectives, including successful implementation of planned initiatives and capital deployment.
- Manage and oversee sub-regional teams, ensuring effective performance management and budget administration.
- Enhance operational efficiency through measurable process improvements and cost savings.
Engagement
">- Engage with stakeholders across the sub-region to identify country needs and climate finance opportunities.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration by establishing quality control processes and service standards.
- Mobilize Accredited Entities and Delivery Partners to align with country-driven and transformational climate finance initiatives.
- Represent the Fund at key events, enhancing outreach to recipient countries and strengthening collaboration with partners.
Requirements
">- A Master's degree in a relevant field, preferably higher-level degree, or Bachelor's degree plus two years of qualifying experience may be accepted.
- At least 15 years of experience in management roles with like-minded institutions.
- Extensive expertise in project origination, transaction appraisal, financial structuring, deal management, execution, and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of climate change and climate finance operations.
- Proven track record in integrated climate or development finance.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and leadership experience.
