Climate Impact Specialist: Transforming Climate Action

The Green Climate Fund is the world's largest dedicated multilateral climate fund, investing in impactful programs and projects in developing countries. Our portfolio of 297 projects across 133 countries has a total commitment of USD 16.6 billion to date.
In 2023, an additional USD 12.8 billion was pledged to support our new strategic cycle from 2024-2027, aiming to grow to at least a USD 50 billion fund by 2030.
Salary and BenefitsAs a Climate Impact Specialist, you will be offered a competitive salary of USD 129,400, along with attractive benefits, including relocation, dependency, housing, education assistance, and home country travel allowances.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a top-tier individual with a demonstrable track record of harnessing experience, energy, and networks to tackle complex global climate change challenges.
You will be responsible for ensuring that GCF's investments lead to measurable, monitorable, and credible results by ensuring the integrity of estimates and targets of GHG emission reductions in all Funded Activities.
- Origination (technical review and structuring), implementation, and portfolio management support across the region.
- Pipeline and Portfolio analysis and optimization, to support the Region to prioritize and optimize the portfolio while leveraging different GCF departments, divisions, and financial products.
- Master's degree in Climate Science or other relevant Earth Science, or engineering with knowledge of climate impact assessment.
- At least 9 years of relevant work experience, including 3-5 years with a regional or multilateral development bank and/or development financing institution.
- Strong M&E design and implementation skills, especially those related to GHG accounting.
- Proven track record in project management, including design, implementation, and GHG mitigation calculations.
- Relevant experience in international settings and climate finance or developing climate finance projects in international/developing countries.
As a Climate Impact Specialist, you will join a diverse team of talented individuals representing almost 80 nationalities, contributing skills and experience from academic, scientific, private, government, and non-profit backgrounds.
