About the Role
The Green Climate Fund is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Climate Impact Project Specialist.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our investments in funded activities lead to measurable, monitorable, and credible results. This includes providing scientific advice on funding proposals at all stages of their development, ensuring they are aligned with the latest knowledge on climate change and articulate current or projected climate change risk.
You will also be involved in project origination, implementation, and portfolio management support across the region, including pipeline and portfolio analysis and optimization. Your expertise in climate impact assessment, climate finance tools, enablers, and implementation models across various sectors will be essential in achieving these goals.
We are looking for someone with a Master's degree in Climate Science or a related field, or a relevant Bachelor's degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience. You should have at least 9 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3-5 years working with regional or multilateral development banks and/or development financing institutions or in a climate impact consultancy context.
A strong M&E design and implementation skills, especially those related to GHG accounting, are essential. Proven track record in project management, including but not limited to design, implementation, and experience in a relevant sector and/or experience in climate finance or developing climate finance projects in international/developing countries are also required.
Excellent business writing and presentation skills, excellent presentation skills, and strong data management skills are necessary. Ability to articulate complex issues verbally and in writing in a concise manner and fluency in English and relevant language proficiency related to GCF regions are also required.
