Climate Infrastructure Project Specialist

GCF is a multilateral climate fund investing in impactful programs and projects in developing countries. Our portfolio includes 297 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 16.6 billion to date.
We are seeking a top-tier individual to join our team as a Climate Infrastructure Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing an active pipeline of transformative proposals to mobilize public investment in climate mitigation and adaptation, focusing on infrastructure development.
The successful candidate will work closely with GCF's accredited entities, national designated authorities, and partner organizations in developing countries. S/he will also engage with policymakers, senior-level government officials, and industry players to identify opportunities for climate investment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in leading and structuring investment proposals, as well as experience in project management, risk identification, and financial structuring.
In this role, the candidate will apply their expertise to develop innovative solutions for climate change, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pipeline of transformative proposals for climate infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with GCF's accredited entities, national designated authorities, and partner organizations to identify opportunities for climate investment
- Engage with policymakers, senior-level government officials, and industry players to build relationships and secure support for climate projects
- Apply expertise in project management, risk identification, and financial structuring to develop innovative solutions for climate change
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver results
Requirements
- Master's degree in finance, MBA, or equivalent with additional studies in ESG investing, sustainable finance, or related fields
- At least 9 years of relevant work experience in climate finance, impact investment, investment advisory, and regional or international investment facilities
- Demonstrated experience in leading and structuring investment proposals, project management, risk identification, and financial structuring
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues and information for different audiences
- Fluency in English required, with proficiency in Russian and/or Arabic highly desirable
