The Green Climate Fund is a world leader in climate finance, supporting countries to grow their economies while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Key Responsibilities- Develop an active pipeline of transformative proposals to mobilize public investment in climate mitigation and adaptation, focusing on infrastructure development;
- Originate, lead, and manage investment pipeline development, proposal development, execution, and review, and portfolio monitoring of proposals, including readiness proposals and funding proposals, focusing on Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East;
- Apply the Fund's investment criteria and other policies and guidance in the review of funding proposals and concept notes, and help negotiate and structure the proposals to maximize impact through GCF support;
- Collaborate with all domain-level specialists, including risk, legal, environment, social safeguards, and gender, as well as finance within GCF, to identify and develop risk mitigation strategies related to funding proposals and readiness proposals;
This role requires a strong understanding of climate finance, impact investing, and project management, as well as experience working in international settings and developing climate finance projects in emerging markets.
The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in finance or a related field, with at least 9 years of relevant work experience in climate finance, impact investing, investment advisory, and regional or international investment facilities.
They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with private and government partners, and to work effectively in multicultural teams.
