HauptaufgabenServes as a Staffing Assistant for U.S. and KN non-appropriated fund jobs. Responds to walk-in applicants and telephone callers who are interested in obtaining employment. Determines the kind and level of work in which they are interested and previous employment to advise on employment opportunities. Accepts applications for positions for which recruiting action is in process, applications for anticipated vacancies. Explains employment procedures to employees/management. Advises applicants on adequacy of information provided in applications for employment. KN Recruitment Processing. Logs applications in and forwards to the Civilian Human Resources Agency (CHRA). Requests and processes referral lists through automated system or requests recruitment actions from the CHRA. Reviews supervisors selection to ensure proper adherence to referral categories and merit principles. Coordinates selections with CHRA ensuring required documentation is complete. As required, arranges release/entry on duty dates and processes personnel actions and forwards to CHRA. Assists with in- processing of new employees. U.S. Recruitment Processing. Reviews personnel requests to determine the nature of staffing action and source of candidates. Writes recurring and new vacancy announcements by abstracting a duty statement from the job description and the minimum years of general and specialized experience required to qualify from the qualification standard. Assures that proper remarks are included in the announcement. Rate applications for external or internal placement in or promotion to positions covered by qualification standards in a wide variety of occupations. Determines appointment eligibility and that minimum qualification are met. Evaluates applications for job-related criteria and assigns point values for experience, training, and performance in relation to required job skills, knowledge, and abilities according to local merit promotion plans or external recruitment plans. Refers candidates for consideration. Explains qualification decisions as required. Forwards completed recruitment package to the CHRA for final processing. Performs miscellaneous clerical work such as using office automation to type a variety of documents such as letters, memos, and reports; compiles information for reports, maintains files, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
