HauptaufgabenPlans and directs the night shift operations: Acts as night manager performing all Grocery Department Manager duties overnight and/or when the store is normally closed. Assists the Grocery Department Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the semi-perishable division of the commissary. Supervises all functional operations of the grocery department and manages supply and equipment from initial planning and requirements analysis and determination through acquisition and distribution to ultimate issue, resale, or disposal. Plans, organizes, and directs the work of store workers engaged in receiving all semi-perishable items, inspecting for condition, and verifying quantities shown on delivery tickets; processing, packaging, pricing, displaying and replenishing items; taking inventories and cleaning display cases and shelves. Responsible for the new item shelf placement process for all semi-perishable items. Reviews orders to insure the correct quantities of semi perishables are on-hand to meet customer demand. Reports overwrites/underwrites to Grocery Manager daily. Compiles lists of all Not-In-Stock (NIS) items to initiate research cause/solution. Based on the monthly POSM data, identifies the top 250 FDS items and ensures availability within commissary. Manages the Never Out Program. Assures that proper inventory control is being maintained at all times and continuous service is given without interruptions due to consumption errors or lack of stock items. Supervises the Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) function of the store insuring oversight of all contractual agreements in such activities as shelf stocking, custodial, truck unloading and other contract activities. Insures that semi-perishable merchandise, supplies, and equipment are properly secured from possible theft and spoilage. Assists Grocery Department manager in personnel management of employees, recommends personnel action requests for promotion, reassignment, recruitment, and detail etc. Approves short-term leave, provides on-the-job training and participates in employee's performance appraisals. Performs other duties as assigned.
